Policies
| Printing Do not print more than two copies of any one document. Do not scan something and print copies of it—that’s what photocopiers are for. We are doing everything we can to keep costs down, because toner is expensive. For more information about printing, click here to browse other posts on this web site. |
Installing Personal Software Students may not install software on the computers in the Academic Computing Labs.

Log in to our computers The Windows and Macintosh computers require you to log in with your own user ID and password, so don’t forget them. Don’t forget to log out when you leave. |
| Food and beverages Because food and beverages can damage keyboards, mice, monitors, and computers, we do not allow food and beverages in the Computer Labs. |
Lost and found People constantly leave things in the Computer Labs. Sometimes those lost things are turned in at the office (room BFC-008). To claim a lost article, you must bring photo ID and be able to describe the article or provide other proof that it belongs to you. |
Headphones Some computer programs require you to listen to sounds, so we have a few headphones available for you to borrow. |
| Lost and forgotten passwords We will reset your password if you forget it. Bring your D’Youville ID to room BFC-008. |
Help is available Our Help Desk staff is trained to help you with all the typical challenges the Computer Lab may give you. |
Music downloads The Internet has made illegal music downloads one of the most popular crimes in the world. Do not download music to college computers or use the college network for illegal downloads to your own computer. |
| Children and non-D’Youville students The Computer Labs are for D’Youville College students only. Do not bring children or other non-D’Youville students to the labs. Computer Lab staff will ask for your DYC ID card, and if you do not have one, you will be asked to leave. |
Security Our staff will ask for your DYC ID card, and if you do not have one, you will be asked to leave. |
